Speaking from a strictly BCU perspective; torso movement is really secondary to the following: The ability to firmly grasp a cylinder of the approximate diameter of, say,a pint glass, carefully raise this object to ones face, parting the lips, applying the lips to the edge of the object and...sip, or gulp, or chug. This would seem to be a relatively simple process but at many kayak symposia, I have seen it disintegrate into a horrible mess. Practice is apparently counterproductive.
